So many things you can't do and thing to wary of.... |
but the beach is beautiful and totally deserted! |
there's even the odd kingfisher type bird around |
we like it here! |
we said it was deserted... |
up to Gantheaume Point and the red rocks are stunning |
with views along the 22km of white beach
dinosaur tracks |
the lighthouse keepers house |
..interesting |
Like last year Kairen was stopped and breathalysed (you get the tube as
a souvenir).
(Luckily this year she wasn't speeding) |
Our hotel (Seashells Resort) |
The cafe where we had a lovely meal. It's in the old zoo feeding
house. The zoo went bust 10 years ago. |
We went on a sunset camel ride.
(This is our mount 'Naughty Nigel') |
through the dunes... |
Nigel being naughty |
we're having fun!!
yee haaa! |
the beach is busy....
can you hear the Lawrence of Arabia music? |
what sexy ears! |
Posing with Nigel (but not too close)
say cheese |
we weren't the only group on camels, it's very popular |
just like donkey rides at Skegness |
...I want to be alone... |
a lovely walk in the sunset |
a reminder on our hotel door that this area has some bad weather too |
We pop up the road (250km round trip) to Beagle Bay. The road is as
rough as bags and mainly rock and sand...but hey we are used to this and
do it in four and a half hours. |
The beautiful church at Beagle Bay which is set in a very small
aboriginal community |
The main feature is... |
the altar of mother of pearl |
back from the long hard road, and we settle on the beach for some rays. |
avoiding the crowds wasn't easy!! |
