Saturday 12 January
We arrive in Singapore on a brief stop-over and are delighted to find
that we are departing from the new Terminal 3 that only opened 4 days
before. |
As you would expect from Singapore, everything was working perfectly! |

Laurie wanted a 103 inch plasma! |

Andy and Janine kindly met us at the airport and
transported two very tired bunnies to our new home. We'd been
awake for some 33 hours. The bungalow was bigger and better than
we remembered |

Sunday 13th January
Resisting the temptation to give into jet-lag we
venture out into familiar territory. We forget that we have
arrived much earlier this year and Christmas is only just over |
The sky is still blue! |
Tuesday 15 January
Monday was spent going into Perth to sort out our
Aussie bank accounts and credit cards.
The following day was the big surprise for Doug. It was his 89th
birthday and he thought that we were arriving at the end of the week. |
After a spoof phone call made from next door, purporting to be us
calling from England, we walked through the door mid-call and did a
'surprise...surprise'.
I think he liked it! |

Azalea Ley
Homestead
Jeanie is a leading light in the running
of this key heritage site. Built in 1905 and located at Manning Lake.
The National Trust has assessed the
Azalea Ley Homestead as significant given it demonstrates a way of
life and forms a unified setting, a stately place with evidence of a
life style of the area before the City of Cockburn was built .
Today, the homestead contains a private
museum with both general and local artefacts and documents of interest.
|
The Ford Model A car club have a meeting at the
homestead, and Jeanie is dressed in period costume |

We walk up the back of the homestead to take a look
at The Coogee Beach development we saw starting last year |
The lagoons are in place for the plots with boat
access. They are selling for $3m each (GBP1.4m) and are
'difficult' to get hold of! |
