An early morning call from David changed the day. ...By 10.00 we were on the boat on our way to Carnac, a nearby island. The sea was calm and the weather glorious, a 'high sky' day. Loz Dino and David cleaned the bottom of the boat whilst I guarded it from above. A nice lunch, a few beers and we watched the baby seals on the shore.
Monday - We were planning a really lazy day and we achieved it with flare and panache. We basically did bu**er all. Had a mooch into town and found ourselves waylaid by an ice coffee and a sandwich.
Tuesday - Our get up and go has got up and gone!!.. Lyn (our neighbour) came in for a coffee and a chat. Walked into town, stopped for an ice coffee on the way home. This is starting to become habit forming! Chris (landlord) came in for a beer. Jeanie came round for tea and we spent the evening helping sort out her trip to the UK in August. Having just booked ours it was nice to be spending somebody else's money. Andy and Janine accepted an offer on their house and buying and selling contracts were signed with a completion date of 20 March. Wow
Wednesday - Doug's annual driving test - in his ninetieth year he passed ... Phew! ...Mooched ...ice coffee ... you know the drill by now. Up to Joondalup for our Kul-cha fix with the Baker side of the family. While we were there Janine got a call to say that their dog had smashed the patio door, Talullah is fine ...the window lost.
We decided that we should try to find some energy. Drove to Mitchell Park in South Perth and cycled into Perth. Went on the Perth Wheel, a big Ferris wheel with nice views. They have built one in Melbourne but it buckled in the heat! Up into the city centre for an ice coffee. Went in the Lucky Shag (a bar!) for a beer before cycling back through East Perth and Burswood and back to the car. Australian's think we are mad 35c and we do a 10 mile bike ride. They could have a point you know.
