Doug's Tiger Moth flight and Camping at Willowbrook Farm
Saturday 24th 38c
This was a big day. We went to the Royal Aero Club at Jandakot airport where we met up with Doug Jeanie, Wendy David, Lizzy Dino Mia, Susan & Charlie.
We had arranged Doug a flight in a Tiger Moth for his birthday. He was so excited and nervous at the same time. By the time he was in the cockpit and had his leather hat on he looked just like Biggles.
An hour later he landed and he was full of it and a grin from ear to ear. Coffee and buns in the restaurant before the three of us said our good byes to the others and followed Susan and Charlie to Gingin.

Then the start of our big camping adventure.
The journey up was good and we arrived at Willowbrook Farm (owned and run by Charlie's sister Kaye and her husband Harry). It was packed and every van and tent was trimmed up with the Aussie flags.
We got the last pitch... in the sheep pen. Loz and Charlie put our tent up, Glenys was sleeping in the awning with Susan and Charlie. Our tent was a two man affair that was pretty old and had the shape of a medieval jousting tent.
The site was on old telegraph station. Kaye was lovely and we had a great evening.

Sunday we got up and whilst packing our tent away realised that we had pitched it on top of a thunder ant nest. Kebs got bitten on the same finger she had been stung on earlier. Deep joy!.
Kaye baked 20 dozen scones and at 9.30 rang the bell for people on the site to bring a cuppa and have fresh scones with jam and cream for free. It was yummy. We left Susan and Charlie there at lunch time and headed back home to Freo. We came back down the coast road and it was great ... stinking ,hot blue sea and sky. The beaches and pubs on the way were busy and buzzing.
