Strahan is a very remote port. The main attraction is the wilderness river cruise, which we didn't fancy. The weather here is usually very changeable, and wet. Today was brilliant blue sky. We decided to stay in town and walk the town.
Breakfast | The harbour is very still |
With the two big river cruise boats gone, the town was very peaceful
We walk up to Hogarth Falls | Laurie is missing his tripod! |
He's a secret tree hugger! | The result was OK though |
What are these? (*answer at the bottom of the page, click here)
We walked along the beach towards Macquarie Harbour
We are the only people there
The action | ...and the result |
The river cruise returns
We sample a bottle of wine at the View 42o Bar | An ABC film crew is making a programme about the wine tasting in Strahan |
We starrred (very briefly!) | We had been recommended to see a play about a prisoner mutiny. |
Lots of audience participation
'star' appearances | ahh!.. that's more in character |
more 'celebs' | Kairen is the cat |
*They are floating bins that contain 3 tonnes of food used in salmon farms. They are pre-programmed to dispense food from the bottom 'spinners' onto the surface of the water. Go back
