Hobart to Strahan

Tuesday 1st  December

"White Rabbits..White Rabbits"

We leave Hobart and the rain (hopefully!).  Into our first of many national parks.  Our destination is Strahan (pronounced Strawn) A major harbour town on Tasmania's wild west coast with a pioneering heritage.

The sat-nav showing that we must turn right in 172km! (not as good as a 243km instruction we didn't think to photograph!)	Lake St Clair
We walked along the foreshore
......scrambled through the undergrowth
...then Kairen noticed the signs!!!
...now they tell us!!	hitting a roo is an ever present danger.  They make a nasty dent in a car!

Queenstown was a major mining town	The extremes of mining have almost stripped the surrounding hills of vegetation
The whole town is almost desert like	compared to a few miles further on....
We arrive in beautiful Strahan The Christmas decorations are out in the heat at reception	We are staying right on the harbour-front
