Melbourne

Saturday 28^th November

We leave Phillip Island and the little penguins and beguiling koalas.
The capital city of Victoria, Melbourne is probably our favourite Australian city.  It has a buzz and vibrancy like no other.
We were here 6 years ago and can see quite a few changes.

We venture down onto the South Bank to see the restaurants and casino
The Crown Casino has a special Christmas show on and we just had to watch it!

	Melbourne has an extensive tramway system
A post-box just for letters to Santa
Burke Street	David Jones is one of the main retailers in Australia and this store had been refurbished and newly opened that morning.  They had retained the original fascia.
The Royal Arcade
	The old Post Office is now an arcade
Laurie & Gene share a pint	The heavens opened and we had a heavy rainfall that lasted all night.
A fantastic steak at Campari on Hardware Lane	We went back to Burke Street to see the Christmas lights
Myers had a Christmas window display similar to Hamleys in London
